I discovered yoga about five years ago after an injury. It was during this time… I learned the power of yoga.
I started learning yoga through YouTube videos and eventually continued my journey at the Yoga Shop in Connecticut. I cried the day I took my first class at the Yoga Shop with Annie Q, founder of Livfree Power Yoga.
Once I was able to calm my mind, I experienced a catharsis of emotions. It was one of the most incredible workouts and experiences I encountered. I was hooked at that point. A few short months later, I enrolled in the Yoga Teacher Training program and became certified as a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher in December 2019.
I am currently trained in Livfree Power Yoga; a vinyasa yoga connecting breath to movement with your heart and soul. My class is taught through the journey of music and song. Class is concluded with me singing a Shavasana (resting/corpse pose). I am not a perfect teacher and do not expect perfection from my students. Yoga is not about judgment. Instead, Yoga is about acceptance, healing, transformation, and self-love. As you learn about asanas (postures practiced in Yoga) and how your pranayama (breath) is connected, you begin withdrawing from external stimuli to enhance your internal awareness.
This is where transformation and change begin.

The world can sometimes be chaotic, confusing, and fast pace. The constant shifting from one action to another with little awareness can lead to increased anxiety, confusion, and a state melancholy. Mindfulness mediation allows your mind and body to slow down in order create space so that you are more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have completed the Mindfulness-based stress reduction student course; an intensive mindfulness training including meditation, yoga, behavioral awareness, and emotional awareness. My training as a psychotherapist, a yoga teacher, and a forever student will challenge you to connect with your higher self.
